GLAMPING AT REDRICKS LAKES

Glamping at Redricks Lakes is a dog-friendly, family glamping site that welcomes you to spend some time amongst nature and enjoy the great outdoors. 

Escape life and hunker down in our beautiful corner of Hertfordshire. Sawbridgeworth is a market town and civil parish close to the border with Essex, Cambridge, and London filled with history. 

FAQ's

  • DO YOU ALLOW CARAVANS OR CAMPERVANS?
    Campervans are welcome to join the ‘Bring you own’ tent pitches but please note that we do not offer electrical hook up, just a pitch. Please choose this option from the Tents and Prices’ page
  • IS THERE ELECTRICITY IN THE TENTS?
    Yes! You will have 2 x USB points to charge your mobile phones. There are no 3 pin plugs within the tents but the showers do have some for hairdryers and straighteners. For guest with special needs i.e heating babies bottles, refrigerating babies milk or medication etc, the staff in the on site office will be happy to facilitate that. There is light in every tent You’re strongly advised to bring a torch. If you forget yours however we do sell torches on site.
  • CAN WE BOOK OUR TENTS TO BE TOGETHER?
    Yes you can. The booking system doesn't necessarily place you in corresponding tents and due to the layout of the tents at our site the numbers don't correspond to neighbouring tents. So if you place your booking for the number of tents that you want and then email us at glampingatredricks@gmail.com you can ask for them to be adjusted to be near each other. cross bookings e.g. – glamping tents and BYO tent pitches are subject to availability.
  • DO WE NEED TO BRING OUR OWN BEDDING?
    You will need to bring your own bedding when you come to stay at Redricks Lakes, this will inlcude the mattress sheets which are essential for hygeine purposes. Please check the size of the beds you are hiring when booking. You should also bring your own towels for showering and swimming. However if you forget anything don't worry, there are Tesco and The Range Superstores only 8 minutes down the road, andour on site shop will have a limited amount of stock for purchase to help you out.
  • CAN I HAVE A CAMPFIRE?
    Yes, we are one of the few campsites that allow campfires within the fire pits that are provided with each tent. If you are planning on using the fire pit then make sure that the means of extinguishing is it at hand (e.g. bucket of water). Firewood logs are available to purchase on site - Do not gather wood from the woodlands or cut down living trees as this has a very negative impact on the wildlife. It is not free and it's strictly prohibited! Please note that in extremely hot weather that this will be assessed on a case-by-case basis as to not present a fire risk
  • IS THERE WIFI ON SITE?
    Glamping at Redricks. is all about living in the moment. An opportunity to disconnect to reconnect, to unwind and unplug. We do not supply Wi-Fi on site, so this is a chance to put down your phone and look at the natural beauty of what is around you! But don't panic, the 4G reception in the area is very good and we supply 2 x USB ports for charging your devices within each tent, so if you should feel the need to contact the outside world and share your exciting experiences on your social networks you can, just remember to tag Cre8 Glamping when you do! 😊
  • WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
    Full Payment is required on booking. A booking is not considered confirmed until full payment has been received. Glamping - is based on a min of 1 nights stay. Sorry, no refund for cancelled bookings or change of dates as we cannot re-let. Camping bookings – No refunds are available for cancelled bookings or no shows. Damage - if we must replace or repair anything, do any extra cleaning or collect rubbish, or receive any complaints from other campers and neighbours about you, we will retain the deposit and have to ask you to leave the campsite and to pay the amount owed.
  • WHAT TIME IS CHECK-IN / CHECK-OUT?
    Due to guest leaving before your arrival and those guest who have booked your tent when you leave the following times are in place for our cleaning staff to get everything prepared for you and them. Check- in times are between 3pm - 8pm Please advise us beforehand if you are arriving after 8pm. Check-out is by 10am for Bell Tent guests and 11am for those camping with their own tents. If you wish to arrive prior to 3pm, please choose the early check-in option when booking
  • DO YOU ALLOW DOGS TO STAY ON SITE?
    Yes, your dog can come with you but must be kept on a lead at all times. Please clean up after your dog, and don’t throw poop bags in our hedges. This has a negative impact on the countryside and there are bins available for all all your waste. Please note that there is a small charge if you are bringing dog of £5 per dog per night with a 2 dog maximum per tent.
  • WHAT ARE THE SHOWERING & TOILET FACILITIES LIKE
    There are on site toilets and shower facilities. Their areas are well lit but its recommended you bring your own torches to be able to get to them in the dark, but if you forget yours we will have a limited stock available at the shop. All facilities are cleaned regularly throughout the day and night. Please help us keep the bathrooms clean and wipe the facilities prior and post use. Please ensure you bring with you: Hand Sanitiser, Toilet Roll, Antibacterial Spray and Hand Soap.
  • CAN I BRING CHILDREN?
    Yes! We are a family-friendly glamp site. However small children must not wander the site alone as there are various hazards including ponds, ditches, electric fences, vehicles, camp fires & more in the area. Children and teenagers must be supervised by an adult at ALL TIMES. Please take extreme care and accompany your children always.
  • CAN I HAVE A BBQ?
    Each glamping unit comes with it's own BBQ for you to use during your stay but you are welcome to bring your own camping stoves etc as well.
  • CAN I FISH DURING MY STAY AT REDRICKS LAKES?
    Fishing is not allowed at Redricks Lakes. However, there is a kilometre stretch nearby along the River Stort that can be used during the fishing season. Please note that you will need to purchase a ‘Environmental Road License’ online prior to visiting.
  • CAN I HOLD MY STAG/ HENS WEEKEND AT REDRICKS?
    Hen and Stag do’s are strictly by pre-approval. If you would like to hold your hen/stag party here, please email prior to booking glampingatredricks@gmail.com
  • CAN YOU TAKE GROUP BOOKINGS?
    Yes. Large groups should contact us in advance to notify us of the number of people in the party, and if necessary, discuss booking a private section in the camping field.
  • CAN I PLAY AMPLIFIED MUSIC ON SITE/ IN MY PLOT?
    Our campsite is a place for reconnecting with nature and the countryside. However, should you wish to bring your own Bluetooth/USB plug in speakers you are welcome to do so. Please note that this is a quiet site as of 10pm.” It's not that you need to then go to bed, but many of our guests have young children and we ask that noise is kept to a minimum after 10pm, thank you.
  • CAN WE GO INTO OTHER FIELDS FOR WALKS?
    There are miles of walks to enjoy. You should not enter fields with animals in them. In particular, stay away from cattle as they can be extremely protective of their calves. Do not enter fields which have crops growing and just generally adhere to the Countryside Code https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/the-countryside-code/the-countryside-code-advice-for-countryside-visitors
  • WHAT DO I DO WITH MY RUBBISH?
    All rubbish must be removed from the tent area and placed in the large bins in the waste area when you check out. We have bins on site and please follow the rules for recycling carefully. Failure to do so will result in you losing your deposit
  • WHAT DO I DO ABOUT INSECTS & BUGS?
    Insects are part of camping and outdoor life and there is no way to avoid them completely, unfortunately the odd bug will doubtless find its way inside your tent. You can minimise their impact by doing the following: Wear long-sleeved shirts and long trousers and treat yourself and clothing with insect repellent, especially around the openings at your neck, ankles and wrists. Remember to do this at night. Always keep the tent / cabin doors shut. Keep food sealed and dispose of rubbish properly. Use insect repellents.
  • IS THERE ACCESS TO DRINKING WATER?
    Yes, there are taps in all the camping fields and near the glamping tents. Be sure to bring a container with you to collect water.
  • WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM LENGTH I CAN STAY?
    Please contact us to discuss stays longer than two weeks.
  • DO YOU HAVE POT WASHING AND WASHING MACHINES?
    There are mobile sinks in the fields as well as drinking water, cold water only. No washing machines for clothing available.
  • CAN I BRING THE CAR UP TO THE GLAMPSITE?
    Free car parking is available on site only a short walk from your accommodation. You can drive your vehicle along the path to the nearest position for your tent, no driving on the field is allowed to ensure the safety of the guests, children and dogs that will be playing and enjoying the fields. Once unloaded all vehicles must be parked in the car parking area.
  • CAN I HAVE FIREWORKS OR SKY LANTERNS?
    No, for health and safety reasons and the protection of the area, we do not allow these.
  • CAN I SMOKE IN THE TENTS?
    No, this is not permitted. Anyone caught smoking within the tents wil be asked to leave the site with immediate effect and will forfeit their security deposit. You can however smoke at your picnic bench and each once is provided with an ashtray.
  • WHERE ARE THE BELL TENTS LOCATED?
    All of the bell tents are in the open field which is framed with oak trees, woodland areas and Redricks Lake. If several of you are booking Bell Tents please let us know so we can place you in tents next to one another. We will do our best to accommodate requests for specific locations although cannot guarantee requests will be fulfilled due to already existing bookings but we'll try our best.

CHILDREN

Children are allowed to glamp at Redricks, but all under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.

TECH

Each tent comes with USB ports to charge devices, colour changing lighting and a bluetooth speaker. There is no wifi on site but there strong 4G coverage throughout the area. 

DOGS

Well behaved, vaccinated dogs are welcome, but please be mindful of picking up after him/her and always use a lead. 

FIRE

We are one of the very few sites in the area that allow campfires within designated fire pits supplied by us! Please read our FAQ below and T&Cs.

TO NOTE

Please bring your own bedding: sheets, blankets, pillows. There are shared showers and bathroom facilities but you must bring your own towels, soap and toilet paper.
